“Police Can’t Declare Me Wanted, Gov Makinde Is My Benefactor” – Oyo Transport Leader, Auxiliary Speaks From Hideout

The sacked Chairman of Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary, has broken his silence after police declared him wanted.

KanyiDaily recalls that Auxiliary was declared wanted for alleged gun-running after the police stormed his Ibadan residence recovering dangerous weapons and ammunition.

Auxiliary reportedly escaped during the raid while some of his boys were arrested by the police, causing tension in some parts of the state, especially in major car parks and garages in Ibadan.

Speaking from his hideout on a live radio programme on Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan on Saturday morning, the transport leader said the police cannot declare him wanted because he didn’t do anything wrong.

Mukaila Lamidi, who spoke in Yoruba language, said Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is his benefactor and destiny helper, noting that he would support whatever the governor wants.

Reacting to the allegations of violence allegedly perpetrated by his boys a few days ago in Ibadan, Auxiliary said he is a peace-lover, who could not have turned the state into a theatre of war over the dissolution of the PMS by the governor.

Daily Post quoted him saying, “I am not against what the boss said. But the allegation of wanted levied against me is not my own because I did not fight. I did nothing.

“All the policemen that went to gather guns, please, a warrior is bigger than a hunter, even if I have such things, will I keep them in my own house? Am I a fool?

“On the issue of transport union, I will support whatever Governor Makinde wants. I am not against him. I cannot fight the government. If he says that I am there, and if he says that I am not there, so shall it be. But, I am still PDP to the core.

“Because Makinde is my benefactor, he has done well for me. Seye Otunba too. They are my benefactors. I will support whatever they want.

“I am saying that anyone that fights will be arrested by the government, because I did not tell them to fight. When me as the leader has said that they should not fight. I told them that I am in support of whatever the governor want,” he added.

Auxiliary, however, promised to comply and cooperate with the reform and integration of other driver unions into the PMS, stating that if the new reform doesn’t favour him, he would accept the outcome.

KanyiDaily recalls that in 2016, Mukaila Lamidi aka Auxiliary was sentenced to six years in prison for conspiracy in the death of some individuals, including a medical student of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria
