Lukman tendered his resignation in a letter dated July 26 and addressed to the party’s acting national chairman, Senator Abubakar Kyari.
In the letter, Lukman, a member of the APC National Working Committee (NWC) said he resigned because the atmosphere in the party is at variance with the vision of its founding fathers.
Recall that Lukman had argued that it would be suicidal to replace Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who resigned recently as national chairman of the party with immediate past Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje.
This is breaking news. More details shortly.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that Ganduje was recently tipped as the national chairman of the APC.
According to Daily Trust, Ganduje met with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa last week with three governors who are members of the APC.
