KanyiDaily recalls that last year, Davido fulfilled the promise he made on his 29th birthday in 2021, by donating N250m to 292 orphanages across Nigeria.
Taking to his Twitter page on Thursday, July 20, 2023, the 30-year-old afrobeats star announced that he recently disbursed another N237m to 424 orphanages.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this noble cause and revealed his intention to make this donation a yearly tradition in celebration of his birthday.
Davido said his ultimate goal is to continue giving back to those in need and using his platform to serve others, stressing that these actions are a testament to his belief in the power of lifting others up and changing lives through acts of kindness.
The singer extended his thanks and blessings to all those who participated in this compassionate endeavor.
He wrote: “I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generosity, I’ve been able to do so.
“We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives.
“This is what I mean when I say we rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!”
