Major General MT Usman Assumes Command As GOC 81 Division

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen MT Usman has assumed Command as the 24th General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army on Monday 24July 2023 at the Division’s headquarters Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The Outgoing GOC in his address to the troops of the Division appreciated them for their commitment, efforts while charging them to remain discipline, loyal and also support the new GOC.

Major Gen Ajunwa who is now the DG, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre further appreciated the COAS Major General TA Lagbaja for the opportunity given to him to serve as GOC 81 Division.

Similarly, in his maiden address as 24 General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Maj Gen MT Usman acknowledged the remarkable achievements of his predecessor and emphasised the need for continued cooperation and loyalty among the troops. Additionally, he pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence repost in him by the COAS.

The major highlights of the Handing and Taking over Ceremony include valedictory address to officers and soldiers, endorsement of handing and taking over notes, decoration of incoming GOC with 81 Division insignia, lowering and hoisting of the old and new flags respectively; signifying the end of an era and the begining of a new one.
