The Nigerian masseuse, who started on Saturday, July 1, 2023, was supposed to massage different individuals for 72 hours at Lekki in Lagos State, but she collapsed on Monday, July 3, 2023.
A video circulating on social media showed that by the 50th hour, at about 1:30 a.m., Joyce Ijeoma slumped from exhaustion and never returned to the venue after the live coverage was stopped.
The current record for the longest full-body massage is held by Alastair Galpin, who achieved a time of 25 hours and 4 minutes in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, in November 2015.
While Ijeoma’s effort of 50 hours indicates the possibility of breaking the world record, it is important to recognize the physical and mental challenges involved in completing a Guinness World Record.
