Aside from MI, Governor Mutfwang also appointed former Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi as his honorary adviser on sports.
Both appointments were contained in a statement by the governor’s Spokesman, Gyang Bere issued on Thursday.
The governor described their appointments as part of his administration’s resolve to rebuild the foundation of excellence for the state.
In a post on his official Youtube handle on Friday, MI Abaga said he was “incredibly honoured” to be selected by the governor to assist in growing the creative economy on the plateau.
He appreciated everyone for their kind messages and prayers.
MI Abaga was born in Jos, Plateau State. His parents, Pastor and Mrs. Abaga are from Takum, Taraba state, both of Jukun.
He attended Baptist High School, Jos where his mother purchased basic music notations and later, a 7-key mini piano which launched him into the music world.
He has two brothers, Jesse Jagz, who is also in the Nigerian and African music scene, and Jason Abaga. During the rapper’s adolescence, he would listen to tracks from Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Sarah Maclachlan, Pablo Neruda, Jay-Z, and DMX.
