KanyiDaily recalls that President Tinubu had asked the Senate to approve the $800 million loan requests of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the social safety net program.
If the loan is approved, Tinubu said his government “will transfer the sum of N8,000 per month to 12 million poor and low-income households for a period of six months, with a multiplier effect on about 60 million individuals.”
According to him, the disbursement of the palliatives to Nigerians would cushion the effect of the hardship they have experienced since the removal of the fuel subsidy.
The president also urged the House of Representatives to approve the loan.
Reacting on his Instagram page, Eedris Abdulkareem described the palliative plan as a scam, stressing that Nigerians do not need handouts; instead, they require opportunities for productivity that will ultimately lead to prosperity.
The rapper emphasized the need for a focus on empowering individuals and enabling them to generate their own wealth, rather than relying on temporary financial aid.
He expressed his belief that productivity is the key to achieving lasting prosperity for the Nigerian people.
“Palliatives is a scam! Nigerians dont need handouts, they need productivity that will lead to propersity. Now you know, Abdulkareem wrote.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu had also mapped out 500,000 hectares of farmland and declared a national emergency on food security to tackle inflation following the removal of fuel subsidy.
