How Police Officers Assaulted And Robbed Me – Ekwutousi Philo [Video]

Nigerian comedian and actress, MaryGrace Chioma Ogbu, popularly known as Ekwutousi Philo, has shared a distressing encounter with police officers while on the road.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Ekwutousi Philo could be seen with a police officer who intruded into her car, attempting to seize her recording phone, leading to a frantic struggle while she screamed in distress.

Narrating her ordeal, the comedian revealed that the alarming incident occurred on October 20, 2023, along the Alapere highway in Lagos around 5 a.m.

She said that after completing a gig and was returning home, she got confused and was forced to park her car to figure out her way back home.

Ekwutousi said that the moment she parked her car, she found herself surrounded between two vehicles – one in front and the other at her back.

Police officers emerged from the vehicles, demanding she follow them without stating any alleged wrongdoing, coercing her to an undisclosed location.

Following a contentious exchange, the comedian said she reluctantly agreed, allowing one officer in her car while the rest followed in other vehicles.

During the journey to the station, she attempted a live Instagram broadcast for safety, but the police officer obstructed her and forcefully seized her phone.

In the struggle, she said that the policeman attempted to take control of her car, but bystanders intervened, causing the officers to abruptly depart.

Following their departure, the skitmaker said she discovered that her purse containing valuable items, including earrings and both dollar and naira bills, had gone missing.

She said that her efforts to report the incident at various police divisions proved futile until a fellow officer, who was her fan, acknowledged the involved officer’s identity, admitting their participation in dubious activities.

Ekwutousi Philo said her efforts to fish out the police officers involved and retrieve her stolen properties have been futile.

The officer who confessed to being her fan disclosed that their denial stemmed from their participation in questionable activities.
