The INEC officials, including corps members and ad-hoc staff, assigned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to various polling units in Lokoja.
According to reports, the officials found themselves stranded at Ajayi Crowther Memorial School after gathering at the school to collect electoral materials for the ongoing governorship elections.
It was gathered that despite receiving the necessary election materials on time, the officials are facing a transportation predicament, as INEC did not provide means of conveyance to facilitate their movement to different polling units across the state.
Some officials were reportedly informed that the only viable option for transportation would be if voters at the polling units arranged it for them.
As of the latest update, only three minibuses were available to transport over 200 electoral officials.
Meanwhile, Gunmen have kidnapped the Supervising Presiding Officer (SPO) of the INEC assigned to registration area 06 in Ossioma, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
