“I Lost 17 Ambassadorial Deals Because Of My Online Controversies” – Phyna [Video]

Big Brother Naija’s ‘Level Up’ winner, Josephina Ijeoma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has opened up about the challenges she faced after leaving the house in 2022.

In an interview with her colleague Doyin on Doyin’s Corner, Phyna revealed that she lost a total of 17 ambassadorial deals due to social media controversies.

During the interview, Phyna shared the details of one specific incident where a major brand rejected her because they felt she was an abuser.

According to her, the rejection occurred because blogs accused her of slapping her ex-boyfriend, Groovy, for allegedly making a deal behind her back that was originally meant for both of them.

Phyna expressed her frustration over the impact of unfavorable stories circulated by bloggers, noting that these stories had a significant negative effect on her career.

The reality star highlighted the toll that social media controversies and false narratives have taken on her professional opportunities, particularly in terms of ambassadorial deals.

She said: “Two weeks ago, my manager and I did a calculation of how many deals I lost last year till now. We counted 17 deals. Am aware of a big brand that told me their reason for not working with me is because I am an abuser. They said they can’t work with an abuser, and this was coming that period that bloggers said I slapped someone.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Phyna also revealed that “I’m always lively on social media, but off-camera, I spend the majority of my time alone.”
