Despite his pursuit of peace, Wike made a strong vow never to let anyone bring him down.
Wike, while celebrating his 56th birthday at his residence in Port Harcourt and addressing traditional rulers from Ogbaland, emphasized his willingness to embrace peace but firmly asserted that he would not allow anyone to undermine him.
According to Wike: “No politician will fold his hands and allow himself to be dragged down.
“I and my team would accept peace but we won’t allow ourselves to be dragged down because when we go down, who will protect our people? Who will talk about our interest.”

The conflict between Wike and Fubara resulted in discord within the state legislature, leading to 27 lawmakers defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
As tensions heightened, the state House of Assembly was destroyed by fire, followed by the demolition of the complex under Fubara’s administration.
Kanyi Daily recalls that the coalition for truth and Justice had strongly opposed a recent Federal High Court order that restricts Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State from performing specific official duties.
