Election Violence Linked to Politicians, Not INEC-Ganduje

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said that politicians, not the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), are accountable for the electoral violence disrupting the peaceful conduct of elections in Nigeria

Ganduje made this statement while welcoming INEC’s election and party monitoring team to the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday.

The team’s visit was part of the mandatory annual verification of political parties

The APC National Chairman assured INEC that his leadership has implemented strategies to keep the APC active throughout the year, not solely during elections.

Ganduje stated that he has directed all APC offices nationwide to be fully operational.

He assured INEC that the APC is prepared to furnish the necessary information, emphasizing the party’s strength

According to Ganduje: “There is no doubt today is a historic day, the day of reckoning, accomplishment, in terms of the relationship between INEC, and political parties, particularly the ruling party, APC.

“We are developing what we call the National Institute for Progressive Studies to teach our members the basics of democracy so that the issue of hate speech will be eliminated.

“I know one of the biggest problems of INEC in conducting elections is insecurity. Everyone will say INEC, but it is the politicians.”

Kanyi Daily recalls that Senator Abdullahi Ganduje had said that presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi should consider contesting in the 2031 elections.
