Tinubu Fires FCCPC, BPE Bosses With Imediate Effect

President Bola Tinubu has fired Mr. Babatunde Irukera, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), and Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh, the Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE)

A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President on Monday, stated that the dismissed chief executives are instructed to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies, pending the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers

According to the presidency, their immediate removal from office is a direct result of the president’s directive

Ngelale also pointed out that this move aligns with the plans to restructure and reposition essential Federal Government agencies. The goal is to protect the rights of Nigerian consumers and bolster key growth-focused institutions, fostering a stronger contribution to the nation’s economy.

Kanyi Daily recalls that  Bola Tinubu had approved the appointment of the board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.
