Bandits Abduct Man, Wives, Destroy Houses in Katsina

Katsina State was plunged into another night of terror as armed bandits carried out separate attacks, bringing tragedy to Goda village and Daudawa neighborhood.

Reports revealed that on Sunday night Goda village, located near the border of Kurfi Local Government, was at the heart of a vicious attack by armed assailants.

The assault resulted in the loss of a villager’s life and the burning of several houses, including the residence of Sagir Goda, a vigilant community member

“It was like a nightmare,” recounted a Goda resident.

“Gunshots, houses were on fire. We all ran for our lives. We lost a neighbour, and many families are now without homes,” he said.

In just four hours, another group of bandits targeted Daudawa neighborhood in Faskari Local Government Area. Alhaji Sale, a respected community member, bore the brunt of the assault as the criminals abducted him, along with his two wives, identified as Amina and Rabi

“We heard gunshots around 1:30 am,” shared a local eyewitness.

“Later, we found out that Alhaji Sale’s house was ransacked, and they took him, his wives, and three of his cows,” the source added.

“We are terrified. These attacks are happening too often. We appeal to the authorities to swiftly apprehend these criminals and restore peace to our communities,” expressed one resident

Kanyi Daily recalls that Armed bandits, who recently abducted women accompanying a newly-wed bride to her matrimonial home in Damari, Sabuwa LGA of Katsina State, have issued threats to remarry the bride and sell off the other women
