The skit, featuring a negotiation scenario with kidnappers and the release of abducted Nigerian celebrities, has gained popularity on social media.
In the video, Bovi is seen bargaining for the freedom of various celebrities, offering millions of naira for some while amusingly suggesting a lower amount, N250k, for Seun Kuti.
The kidnapper was displeased with the amount and warned that if Bovi mentioned the amount again, they would kill Seun on the spot. Humorously, Bovi kept mentioning “250, 250” because he wanted the abductors to kill Seun.
Reacting during a recent Instagram live session, Seun Kuti described Bovi as a funny person and contrasted him with AY Makun, whom he humorously referred to as someone not quite adept at comedy.
The musician expressed his amusement with Bovi’s creativity, particularly referencing an upcoming show where Bovi intended to include a similar segment.
He said, “Oh, that Bovi skit, e no go better for Bovi. the guy no well, him be wan even do am for his show, him don tell me, Bovi is a funny guy, not like that other guy that is not funny. His name rhymes with Dakun, nowhere him no dey beg.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Seun Kuti recently revealed that he criticized AY Makun because the comedian described his daughter as a “dog” in one of his skits.
