The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed that armed bandits attacked Nasarawa village in Faskari Local Government Area on February 19.
The assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles, killed six people, injured ten, and set ablaze three houses and around ten motor vehicles.
Confirming the killing in a statement on Tuesday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu, said: “On February 19, some suspected armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles, attacked Nasarawa village, Faskari Local Government Area. They shot and killed six persons, injured 10, and set ablaze three houses and about 10 motor vehicles.”
Abubakar also stated that Commissioner of Police Aliyu Musa had deployed the command’s tactical, operational, and intelligence operatives to the scene. He mentioned that the operatives are combing the surrounding bushes for possible arrests of the perpetrators.
