Davido Finally Speaks On His Alleged Arrest In Kenya

Nigerian superstar, Davido has addressed false reports of his arrest circulating online.

Over the weekend, Davido made headlines as he held his “Timeless Concert” in East African countries Uganda and Kenya.

However, on April 1st 2024, a report claimed that Davido was detained at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after his Kenyan show.

Davido’s detention was reportedly related to a report received by the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) regarding drug abuse at an event Davido attended.

Reacting to the report on his Instagram story, Davido rebuffed the rumours, labelling them as “false.”

He emphasized that he had completed scheduled his shows in Uganda and Kenya and returned home to Nigeria without any legal issues.

Davido stated that he has never been arrested in any country, including Nigeria and the United States.

He condemned the fabrication of such serious allegations, even in the context of April Fools’ Day, and announced that his lawyer would take legal action against tthose responsible for spreading misinformation.

Davido expressed gratitude for his fans’ continued support and emphasized that blessings come from God.

His statement read: “SETTING RECORD STRAIGHT ON FALSE ARREST REPORTS

Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports regarding an arrest circulated online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls.

“I want to assure my fans that these reports are entirely untrue. I successfully completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and have since returned home to Nigeria.

“I’d also like to note that I have never been arrested by anyone in any country for any crime in the world. Not my home Nigeria, my home America, or any of the hundreds of countries I’ve made home throughout my career.

“I find the fabrication of allegations of such international crimes extremely irresponsible regardless of the light of ‘April Fools’, and my lawyer is seeking legal recourse against the media parties responsible for generating this misinformation.

“Thank you for your continued support. Our blessings are from God. I love you all. Sincerely, Davido.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Davido recently made a contribution to the field of education by establishing a music and arts faculty at the International University of East Africa in Uganda.
