DJ Switch Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Police Officers In Lagos, Arraigned In Court

Nigerian disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, has reportedly been arrested for allegedly assaulting police officers in Lagos State.

It was gathered that DJ Switch is currently being taken to the magistrate court in Eti Osa where she would be charged for assaulting police officers.

A police source told Linda Ikeji Blog (LIB) that DJ Switch visited the police station in Elemoro, Ajah, on Monday, April 15, to report an alleged case of fraud perpetrated against her by an unnamed man.

According to the source, the man was arrested on the same day and has remained in police custody since then.

DJ Switch was reportedly summoned on Wednesday, April 17, to ascertain whether she wished to press charges against the suspect or if she preferred his release on bail, as detaining an accused for more than 48 hours contravenes the law.

The police said the disc jockey expressed her desire for the accused to issue an apology, which she intended to record and share online.

However, the accused adamantly refused. Consequently, with neither party willing to compromise, the police decided to settle the matter in court.

The source said that as the police officers were preparing to transport the accused to court, DJ Switch purportedly used her vehicle to block the station’s exit and purportedly assaulted the female officers involved in the case.

Consequently, she was arrested on charges of obstructing police duties, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers.

The accused was similarly escorted to court and remanded in prison custody.

It was gathered that DJ Switch is on her way to the Magistrate Court in Eti-Osa, where she is set to face charges for allegedly obstructing police officers while on duty, resisting arrest and assaulting police officers.

KanyiDaily recalls that DJ Switch recently criticized Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
