During an interview with Billboard News, Fireboy DML revealed how he left an event feeling overlooked and unnoticed after his performance failed to gain any recognition.
Recalling the event, the musician expressed how he felt invisible on stage, with the audience seemingly unaware of his presence.
Despite his performance, he received no acknowledgment or attention from the audience, leaving him disheartened.
Determined to overcome such setbacks, Fireboy DML vowed to himself that he would never seek recognition until he felt deserving of it.
He said, “Every upcoming artiste always go through a lot of stuff.
“There was a show I went to perform and nobody even knew I was on stage or spared me a second glance. Everybody was just dancing.
“The DJ was just DJing. I felt invisible and I went back to the car with my friend crying.
“I told myself never again. I will never ask for something until I feel like I deserve it.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Fireboy DML stated that last year taught him to enjoy his fortune and cherish “God’s blessings” rather than chasing more success.
