KanyiDaily had reported how Portable was arrested on Tuesday, May 14, following a petition by the owner of Unique Motors.
The singer was accused of owing the car dealer N14 million. As per the reports, Portable had initially paid N13 million as a down payment for the car, which had a total price of N27 million.
However, tensions arose between the former business partners after Portable’s car was involved in an accident, leading Unique Motors to take it back for repairs and request full payment.
It was gathered that Portable repeatedly claimed that the vehicle was faulty whenever the car dealer demanded payment of the balance.
When they failed to resolve the matter, the car dealer reported it to the police, leading the Portable’s arrest on Tuesday.
A video capturing Portable’s attempt to evade arrest has gone viral on social media.
In the video, police officers were seen arriving at the scene with a warrant to arrest the singer.
Moments after being presented with his arrest warrant, Portable is seen leaping over a gate as he flees in an attempt to avoid arrest.
Despite initially managing to escape, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command confirmed that he has since been apprehended.
This comes one year after Portable acquired the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, two months after he purchased a Range Rover Sport.
