“I have Over N100 Million With Them” – Mercy Eke Cries Out Over Closure Of Heritage Bank

Big Brother Naija reality star, Mercy Eke has cried out over her money in the now-closed Heritage Bank.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced on Monday that Heritage Bank’s operating license has been revoked.

The Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) assured customers they would receive up to ₦5 million in insured deposits.

Many customers are worried about their money, including Mercy Eke, the winner of “Big Brother Naija” season 4, who says she had over ₦100 million in the bank.

On June 6, 2024, Eke shared her concerns on X, saying she had been hoping for a solution since the news broke on June 3rd.

“I really don’t know how to react about this…I have been hoping for the best…thinking there’s a way out,” she said.

Her followers quickly responded, offering support and asking questions.

One fan mentioned, “Queen Mercy Eke CBN said they will attend to people with 5M or lower first before they attend to people with multiple millions but it may take time.” Eke responded, “That’s the problem. How can they pay 5 million from someone’s millions?

Eke replied, “That’s the problem. How can they pay 5 million from someone’s millions?”

When another fan asked if she had an account with Heritage Bank, she confirmed, saying, “I do…and have above 100m with them.”

A fan then asked the BBNaija winner why she chose Heritage Bank over more popular banks.

Eke explained, “That was the bank that sponsored BBN during my set, for them to pay our money we were advised to open an account with them… stupid me went ahead and funded the account…don’t worry I’m full of regrets right now.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Mercy Eke was recently hospitalized hours after enjoying a yacht party with her friends.
