President Tinubu Departs For Official Visit To China

President Bola Tinubu has left Abuja for an official trip to China.

A statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday, said that President Tinubu would have a short stop in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before heading to Beijing.

The statement noted, “President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for Beijing, China, on Thursday, August 29, on an official visit. President Tinubu will have a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates.”

While in China, President Tinubu is set to meet with President Xi Jinping and hold discussions with Chinese business leaders alongside the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

Several senior government officials are accompanying the President on this trip.

This visit comes at a time when a Chinese company, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, has seized several Nigerian assets.

KanyiDaily recalls that a French court recently ordered the company to seize Nigerian presidential jets currently in France for routine maintenance.

This decision is connected to a long-standing legal dispute between the Chinese company and the Ogun State government over an arbitration award.
