In a statement on Tuesday, the Deputy Governor’s Press Secretary, Hussaini revealed that the boy sustained third-degree burns after accidentally spilling hot water on himself.
He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment but sadly passed away early Tuesday morning at the University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu.
The funeral prayer, led by Chief Imam Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf, was held on Tuesday at the Deputy Governor’s residence.
The ceremony was attended by state officials, including members of the state House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Civil Service, and the Emirs of Bade, Damaturu, and Jajere.
Also present were commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, board and parastatal chiefs, local government chairmen, and many sympathizers.
Prayers were offered by Ustas Babagana Mallan Kyari and Chief Imam Hudu for Allah to grant the boy jannatul firdausi.
