Atiku Slams Tinubu Over Economic Crisis And Hardship In Nigeria, Calls Him ‘T-Pain’

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar claims that President Bola Tinubu is unconcerned about the struggles facing Nigerians in the country.

In a post shared on X on Thursday, Atiku referred to Tinubu as “T-pain,” saying that the president’s approach to managing the petrol subsidy has led to the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

The term “T-pain” combines “Tinubu” and “pain,” reflecting the widespread economic difficulties people are experiencing in Nigeria.

Atiku’s comments came after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited raised petrol prices to N998 per liter in Lagos, while in Abuja, it went up to N1,003.

This price hike has drawn criticism, with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) warning that it will worsen inflation.

Following the increase, Atiku Abubakar stated that inflation would continue to rise due to the administration’s poor management of the petrol subsidy.

The former vice president expressed concern that “T-pain” seems unaffected by the hardships faced by the public.

He wrote, “The haphazard and disingenuous approach of the current administration to fuel subsidy management has been the reason we are in this current economic crisis in the country,” Abubakar said.

“As things stand, there will be no let up in the escalating inflation rate, which is drowning the material well-being of Nigerians. It is even more worrying that T-pain is undisturbed by the hardship in the country.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Atiku Abubakar had previously urged President Bola Tinubu to take lessons from Argentina’s President Javier Milei on swiftly rebuilding investor confidence despite inheriting an unstable economy.
