FirstBank Reaffirms Uninterrupted Banking Services Amid Supplier Platform Enhancement

FirstBank Nigeria Limited has addressed recent media reports regarding a system upgrade, clarifying that the information circulating was misinterpreted. The bank emphasized that the message in question, originally sent exclusively to vendors, pertains only to an enhancement of its supplier management system and does not impact customer-facing services.

Olusegun Alebiosu MD – CEO, FirstBank

The communication referenced a transition from FirstBank’s existing I-Supplier Platform to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform, designed to streamline and enhance vendor interactions. FirstBank assured that this upgrade solely involves supplier operations, with no effect on customer applications, transactions, or other banking systems.

In a statement, FirstBank reaffirmed its commitment to delivering uninterrupted service, assuring customers that all banking channels and operations remain fully functional. Customers can continue to enjoy seamless banking without any disruption.

The statement from FirstBank reads:

”We wish to address a misleading report circulating in the media regarding a system upgrade at FirstBank.

The message which was incorrectly interpreted and reported was sent to, and intended for our vendors only and focused on transitioning from our current I-Supplier Platform (our automated platform that connects us to suppliers) to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform (worldclass platform for managing suppliers), to enable additional capabilities and benefits for our vendors.

Please be informed that no system upgrade is currently underway, and all our customer applications are fully operational. We are not experiencing disruption to our services, and our banking systems, customer transactions, channels, etc, will not be affected by the enhanced supplier platform.

Rest assured that our commitment to seamless service delivery remains unwavering as you continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to our services”.
