Former One Direction star Liam Payne has reportedly died after falling from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. according to local police. He was 31.
According to reporting from Reuters, “Citing officials, leading local newspapers La Nacion and Clarin reported that police were called to the hotel … responding to an emergency call that cited ‘an aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.’”
However, his official cause of death was cited as ”fall from hotel third floor”.
The 31-year-old musician was best known for his role in disbanded British pop group One Direction, which was formed in 2010 on the UK reality music competition show “The X Factor.” The band went on to become the highest selling boy band. Liam was 16 at the time of his audition.
Payne was married to former Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole and has one child, a son named Bear Grey Payne.
