In a video from the Honest Bunch Podcast with media personality Nedu, the former Governor of Anambra State expressed his views on these institutions.
He argued that while politics and the church have a strong appeal in Nigeria, they require significant reform to promote productivity.
Obi voiced his concerns about the overwhelming presence of church signs and activities throughout Nigeria, suggesting a shift in focus from night vigils to night shifts to encourage Nigerians to prioritize productivity.
.
He said, “It’s attractive, politics and church, but it has to be dismantled. We are going to turn night vigil into night shift so that people can be productive.
“I go to church and believe in God but we can’t have it that people Monday to Friday, be in church morning and night.
“If I go from here to my house, the only sign boards you see are those of churches. If you go to the East, it’s burials and that’s not a country.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Nigerian singer Portable recently expressed his disappointment with Peter Obi for not giving him anything during their meeting.
