Lagos LCDA Chairman, Oladotun Olakanle Is Dead

Oladotun Olakanle, Chairman of the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, November 2, 2024, at age 54.

While the exact cause of his death hasn’t been confirmed, sources say Oladotun Olakanle last public engagement was on Friday, November 1, when his administration handed over vehicles to police stations within his council.

Earlier, on Thursday, October 31, the LCDA boss was seen at the burial reception of the late APC chieftain Dr. Adesola Taiwo, CEO of Adefemi Taiwo Hospitals.

A friend, reflecting on their time together at the event on Thursday, said, “We were at a party together on Thursday. His death is still devastating to me.”

This marks the second time a serving chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA has died while in office during a second term.

Olakanle’s predecessor, Babatunde Oke, also passed away in office due to Covid-19 complications during his second term.

KanyiDaily had slso reported that Veteran actor, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, popularly known as Charles Olumo or “Agbako,”  died at the age of 101.
