The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has approved the immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement issued on Monday by Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of Civil Service for the FCT, the decision was described as a step to ease the financial challenges faced by FCTA workers.

Adayilo also announced that the minister has approved the payment of three months’ arrears for all FCTA staff, starting in November 2024.

The statement emphasized that this move demonstrates the minister’s commitment to improving the welfare of FCTA employees.

It is expected to motivate the workforce to actively support the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Adayilo expressed gratitude to the minister for his consistent and prompt approval of staff allowances and other claims, highlighting his dedication to their well-being.
