Ondo Election: Party Agents Seen Distributing Cash At Polling Units

Party agents from two major political parties were spotted at the Anglican Primary School in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State with large sums of cash.

A female agent was seen openly displaying cash to voters, urging them to quickly locate their names on the register.

According to an eyewitness, this was part of a suspected vote-buying scheme during the Ondo governorship election.

Another agent arrived in a minivan carrying a Ghana-must-go bag filled with money.

She was seen compiling a list while other agents approached her for discussions.

A local resident confirmed to PUNCH that the woman with the cash-laden minivan is a well-known party agent (party name withheld) in the area.

When asked why she risked coming out to vote despite being heavily pregnant, one voter responded, “dibo ko sebe”—a phrase meaning “vote and cook a pot of soup,” hinting at the financial incentive she hoped to receive from the agents.

KanyiDaily recalls that Ondo State Police Command announced that drones will be used to monitor the state’s governorship election today.
