Manchester United Considers Marcus Rashford Swap Deal For Victor Osimhen

Manchester United is reportedly considering using its striker, Marcus Rashford, for a swap deal with Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

According to reports, Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United could pave the way for Victor Osimhen to join the club this January.

Rashford, 27, has been sidelined in recent weeks, with his last appearance being Manchester United’s 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest on December 7.

Reports from Goal.com suggested that Rashford is determined to stay in European football despite receiving lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia, including one worth £675,000 per week.

While the forward is reportedly focused on regaining his place in the England national team, there are rumors of his potential move to Napoli.

The Italian side, currently second in Serie A under Antonio Conte, is reportedly interested in Rashford to bolster their attacking options and push for the league title, according to “The Sun”.

A swap deal involving Victor Osimhen has also been speculated.

The Nigerian striker, who was close to joining Chelsea in the summer but instead went on loan to Galatasaray, has been in outstanding form in Turkey, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in 15 matches.

Osimhen previously enjoyed great success with Napoli, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances and helping them secure the Serie A title in the 2022/23 season.

With Manchester United struggling for goals this season—netting only 21 times so far—bringing in a proven forward like Osimhen could address their attacking woes.

Players such as Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have faced criticism, increasing pressure on the club to strengthen their frontline during the winter transfer window.

Osimhen reportedly has a £62 million release clause, and a deal involving Rashford could see the English forward reunite with former United teammate Scott McTominay in Italy.

KanyiDaily recalls that former Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel recently revealed why Chelsea missed out on signing Victor Osimhen before he joined Turkish club Galatasaray on loan.
