Reports on social media suggested that troops from Operation Fasan Yamma in the North West had apprehended Bello Turji.
However, the DHQ has labeled these claims as fake news and urged the public to ignore them.
In a brief statement signed by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, the DHQ clarified the situation, saying, “All news regarding the arrest of Bello Turji by troops should be treated as fake news, please.”
This comes a few days after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa revealed that Bello Turji has expressed his desire to surrender to the Nigerian Army.
