AY Makun Addresses Video Of Him Kissing May Edochie

Nigerian comedian, AY Makun has addressed a doctored Artificial Intelligence (AI) video that falsely depicts him kissing May Edochie, the ensranged wife of actor Yul Edochie.

May Edochie recently sparked online conversations after she was seen traveling in business class with AY Makun.

The two were headed to the United Kingdom for the highly anticipated premiere of The Waiter, which hit theaters on Friday, January 31, 2025.

Following their trip, May shared photos from their journey, but shortly after, an AI-generated video surfaced online, falsely showing her and Ayo Makun sharing a kiss.

Reacting to the manipulated footage, AY took to Instagram to express his disappointment, criticizing those who spread false narratives to tarnish his reputation.

He recalled a similar incident involving reality star Alex Unusual, where baseless rumors linked them romantically, affecting her image.

The comedian urged young Nigerians to channel their creativity toward positive contributions rather than using technology to spread misinformation and create division.

He wrote; “Dear Online Innovators,

“As the future leaders and change-makers of Nigeria, I urge you to channel your immense creative talents toward building a better nation rather than tearing each other down.

“Nigeria is rich with potential, and your unique skills—be it in art, music, technology, or entrepreneurship—can be pivotal in driving positive change. Instead of using your creativity to undermine those who are working hard to improve their lives and contribute to society, let’s focus on uplifting one another.

“It’s essential to recognize that every action has consequences. When we choose to sabotage others, we only perpetuate a cycle of negativity and destruction. At what point will we realize that unity and collaboration will yield far greater results than division?

“The other time, it was the poor @alex_unusual who is yet to come out of all the lies and narratives meted out on her person for choosing always to support a family who was a major part of her brand growth.
