May Edochie’s Lawyer Defends 2face Idibia’s Relationship With Natasha Osawaru

Emeka Ugwuonye, the legal representative of May Edochie, has praised 2Face Idibia for the way he has managed his separation from Annie Idibia and his engagement to Natasha Osawaru.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ugwuonye commended 2Face for openly announcing his split from Annie and making it clear that a divorce was in progress before introducing his new partner.

The lawyer pointed out that 2Face understands the legal and moral obligation to finalize his divorce before remarrying.

Ugwuonye subtly criticized people who justify polygamy after already being legally married, a statement many believe was directed at Yul Edochie, May’s estranged husband.

He emphasized that 2Face did not attempt to “gaslight the nation with newfound love for African traditions and polygamy.”

He acknowledged that a married man can fall out of love and develop feelings for another woman but stressed that under Nigerian law, a man in a statutory marriage must officially divorce his first wife before marrying another.

The lawyer expressed hope that 2Face’s divorce from Annie would be settled legally and wished him and Natasha a happy future together.

The statement reads, “‘’ADVICE TO 2FACE AND NATASHA FROM DPA FAMILY LAW CLINIC

We heard from 2Face that he is planning to marry Ms. Natasha Osawaru. We admit that a married man can fall out of love with his wife and develop love feelings toward another woman. That is possible.

“However, such a man, if married under the Marriage Act of Nigeria, must first divorce his current wife before getting married to the second woman.

“2Face seems to have done things the right way. He first announced his separation from his wife, Annie, and the fact that he had filed for divorce. He is not planning to be a polygamist.

“He knows that he must divorce his current wife before marrying Natasha. To that extent, they are complying with the law.

“2Face had done well in that regard. He did not try to gaslight the nation with some new-found love for African traditions and polygamy.

“We hope that his divorce from Annie will be concluded in accordance with the law. And after that, we wish him and Natasha a happy marriage.”
