Reactions As Nollywood Actress Nkechi Nweje Dies At 60

The Nigerian film industry is mourning the death of veteran Nollywood actress Nkechi Nweje, who passed away on March 21 at the age of 60 after a brief illness.

Movie producer Stanley Ontop confirmed her death in a social media post, revealing that he had known about her death for hours but found it difficult to accept.

In an Instagram post, Stanley described Nkechi Nweje as his best friend, recalling their last conversation, which took place during his social media dispute with actress Queeneth Hilbert.

He shared pictures of the late actress and expressed his shock, saying: “Nollywood in tears as we lost one of our vibrant Nollywood actress @nkechi.nweje After a brief illness.

“Couldn’t post since morning because it was like a dream to me. Ezigbo Nwanyi Onitsha Rest in peace ma’am, my best friend, she always call me on phone advising me. The last time we spoke was during Queenth saga, she said Ontop stop. Am still speechless.”

Nkechi Nweje’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fellow Nollywood stars and fans. Many have taken to social media to express their shock and sadness.
