The singer shared a video on his Instagram page showing the aftermath, including a bullet hole in the window.
In the clip, Seun Kuti, clearly stunned, described how he was relaxing in his room when the bullet suddenly tore through.
“Tell me you’re in America without telling me you’re in America. I’m in my hotel room just chilling and boom,” he said, capturing his shock.
Though unharmed, Seun used the incident to question the idea that Western countries are always safe and orderly.
Sharing the video, the musician wrote: “I read somewhere that these are the civilized people. 😢😢”
The post quickly drew concern and comments from fans, many expressing relief that he wasn’t hurt.
Seun Kuti, who is known for speaking out on social and political issues, didn’t mention which city he was in but assured everyone that he was okay.
KanyiDaily recalls that Seun Kuti recently revealed that his late father treated him differently from his other siblings.
