Former Minister, Mohammed Abdullahi Resigns From APC

Mohammed Abdullahi, a former minister who served under ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdullahi, who was first appointed as the minister of state for science and technology before later taking over the environment ministry, announced his departure from the party in a resignation letter dated June 1.

The letter, addressed to the APC chairman of his ward in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, was also shared with other party leaders.

In the letter, Abdullahi said he was stepping away from the party for personal reasons.

He thanked the ward chairman for the support he received throughout his time in the APC, noting that he was proud of the small contributions they made to grow the party in the state.

“I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on personal reasons,” the letter reads.

“I thank you for the cooperation while I was in the APC where we made modest contributions in building the party in the state. I wish you and the party good luck.”

Mohammed Abdullahi previously held key positions in Nasarawa State, including commissioner for justice and attorney-general under former Governor Abdullahi Adamu. He also served as the secretary to the state government during Umar Tanko Al-Makura’s tenure as governor.

KanyiDaily recalls that Senator Kawu Sumaila, who represents Kano South, also left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
