Orji Kalu Reveals Those Using Boko Haram To Fight President Tinubu

Senator Orji Kalu, who represents Abia North, has accused powerful politicians of backing Boko Haram to create chaos and weaken President Bola Tinubu’s government.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV’s “Politics Today” on Monday, Kalu claimed that certain politicians are using terrorism as a political weapon, just as they allegedly did with past administrations.

The former Abia State governor said the people behind Boko Haram include not just politicians, but also wealthy business figures and top government officials.

The political class is behind Boko Haram. They are using terrorism as a tool to fight Tinubu, just like they did with past administrations,” he said.

When asked to clarify, Orji Kalu said: “People in the political class are the ones fuelling Boko Haram. This is a political war. Some of them aren’t after money — they’re after power.

“They want to tear down the system just to grab control, and that’s not how power should be acquired.

“The insecurity in Nigeria is politically induced. These individuals — politicians, businessmen, civil servants — are not just seeking financial gain. They’re looking to hijack political power.”

He argued that Nigeria’s security crisis is not just about crime but is being driven by political interests.

Kalu urged Nigerians to rise above personal ambition and focus on rebuilding the country.

“If we consider ourselves friends and patriots, we should care about the ordinary Nigerian. We must work together to build a better country,” he said.

kanyidaily@gmail.com  recalls that at least 2,423 people were killed, and 1,872 individuals were abducted within the first eight months of President Bola Tinubu‘s administration.
