Simon Guobadia Regrets Marriage To Porsha Williams, Claims She Married Him For Money [Video]

Simon Guobadia, the former husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams, has finally opened up about their short-lived marriage and messy divorce.

In a recent interview with Page Six, the Nigerian-born businessman said he “absolutely regrets” marrying the reality TV star.

Simon Guobadia said he was “targeted from the very beginning” for his money, stressing that he was left in the dark when Porsha Williams suddenly filed for divorce.

“I kept asking, ‘Why did you file for a divorce?’ And she wouldn’t say anything,” he said, adding that he couldn’t even reach her family for clarity. “This felt like a coup. … I was totally blindsided.”

Frustrated by the silence, Simon said he eventually sent her a blunt message: “This was a $5 million rehab project that I took on.”

Their marriage lasted just 14 months before Porsha filed for divorce in February 2024. At the time, she cited troubling details about Simon’s finances and immigration status.

But Simon insists none of that was ever discussed between them.

“She never shared her concerns or issues with me before filing for divorce. If you’re married … you discuss issues and say, ‘Hey, if this does not change or something does not happen, this is what might come of it.” he explained

Reflecting on their engagement, Simon revealed they got engaged just 30 days after meeting, claiming he was out of his mind.

Earlier this week, Porsha told “People” she hired an immigration lawyer in January after discovering complicated issues around Simon’s legal status.

She added that things took a turn for the worse after a heated argument on Valentine’s Day, which led her to file for divorce days later.

Simon, who was recently deported to Nigeria over immigration violations tied to financial crimes, insisted that his marriage to Porsha was never genuine.

He sais, “I think I was targeted. I was targeted from day one for financial reasons. When I filed for divorce from my previous ex-wife [‘RHOA’ cast member Falynn Guobadia, Williams was in my DM praying for me.

“I think I was in a vulnerable position at that time, and I entertained it. So it just kind of snowballed from there.

“Getting engaged in 30 days … who does that? I was out of my goddamn mind to have done that. Of course, I’m paying dearly for it.”

Despite a court ruling that upheld their prenuptial agreement, granting Porsha $40,000 a month in alimony and up to three years of mortgage-free living, Simon says he’ll appeal the decision “with 1,000% certainty,” even if he has to take it to the Supreme Court.

Speaking on his relationship with Porsha’s daughter, PJ, Simon made it clear there’s no bond between them, dismissing his ex-wife’s notion that the pair were close.

He also criticized her for paying child support on his behalf while he was detained by immigration, saying it was only done to make herself look good.
