The singer presented the extravagant gift in front of their star-studded guests, adding an emotional touch to the celebration by honoring the memory of their late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The wedding, held on Sunday, August 10, was attended by family, close friends, and prominent figures from the worlds of politics, business, and entertainment. It comes a year after Davido and Chioma’s traditional wedding in Lagos.
To keep their son’s memory close on the big day, Davido wore custom cufflinks featuring Ifeanyi’s photo and proudly showed them off in an Instagram post.
Ifeanyi, the couple’s first child, tragically passed away in 2022 after an apparent drowning at the singer’s Lagos home while Davido was away.
A viral video from the Miami celebration shows the moment Davido gifted Chioma the diamond-studded wristwatch, fastening it onto her wrist as she beamed with joy to the cheers of guests.
In the video, a voice could be heard saying, “My brother, David said, “I have to give my wife the Richard Mille wristwatch valued at $300,000. This is just one of the gifts.”
During his wedding speech, Davido spoke with visible emotion, calling Chioma his “love, peace, and home.”
He admitted it was the most nervous he had ever been on stage, saying, “Chioma, I have been on many stages, but this is the nervous I have ever been.
“You are my love, my peace, my home. You came into my life quietly and became the most loudest and beautiful part of it. You saw the real me, the me the world doesn’t see and you still choose me,.”
The Miami wedding also attracted Nigerian music stars such as Adekunle Gold, Teni, and Zlatan Ibile, who had earlier joined the couple for their pre-wedding dinner.
Speaking on the grandeur of the celebration, Davido revealed that the event cost a staggering $3.7 million.
“We spent $3.7m in cash. You should know what we are doing. It’s crazy,” he said.
