I’m Being Blackmailed For N5m With Video Of Me Sleeping With Senator’s Wife – Ijoba Lande

Nigerian comedian, Ijoba Lande says he is the target of a blackmail attempt involving a fake artificial intelligence (AI) video that wrongly shows him in bed with a married woman.

In an Instagram post, Ijoba Lande revealed that an unidentified individual sent him the video and demanded N5 million to keep it from being released.

The comedian insisted the footage was fabricated and called on the government to step in quickly with laws to regulate the use of AI.

“I’m calling on the Nigerian government to act fast on the use of AI to create videos. If not regulated, it will cause a lot of damage in this country,” he said.

“Someone sent me a video and threatened me. In the video, I was naked and in bed with a married woman.

“I’m not the one in that video, but the person is threatening me and demanding N5 million. If you are the one behind it, just delete it. I am not the person in it.”

The comedian later disclosed that the video had already begun circulating among his contacts, including his benefactors, raising doubts about his integrity.

Lande also claimed that the woman shown in the video is the wife of a senator, adding that he has no idea how the deepfake was created but maintained his innocence

“What do you gain from ruining people’s lives? The video I complained about a few days ago is already causing me problems,” he said.

“They are now sending the video to my benefactors, and some of them don’t seem to believe it isn’t me. I don’t even understand how the video was made.

“I found out that the woman in the video is married to a senator, and several people have been sending it to me.

“Please, if you receive the video, delete it immediately and don’t forward it to me.

“The person in the video isn’t me. I’m not a kid, I would know if I was intimate with someone. And to the person who created that video, I hand you over to God.”

This controversy comes months after Ijoba Lande’s marriage collapsed in March, following his accusations that his wife, Darasimi, was unfaithful with over 20 men in the entertainment industry, including actor Baba Tee.
