Ekuma Jeremiah Iziogo, better known as “Jerry Luck”, went viral after a short video showed him handing out cash to prisoners from his roadside earnings.
His simple act of kindness won admiration across the country and completely changed the course of his life.
Moved by the gesture, businessman Obi Cubana awarded him a scholarship to study law, a decision that set him on a new path.
Three years later, Jeremiah graduated with a law degree from Ebonyi State University.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, September 22, 2025, he shared photos from his graduation and wrote an emotional message about his journey.
He wrote, “Today, a journey that started with little or no hope of crossing the finish line has come to an amazing end. A raw but naked hope of becoming a lawyer that I had.
“How the hope crashed and how I started again even in a bigger and better way through the invaluable support of the good people of Nigeria.
“A journey not devoid of normal University ups and downs. Falling and getting up every now and then knowing that I can’t afford to disappoint the world. It was a five years of diverse experiences.”
He expressed deep gratitude to Obi Cubana, Daddy Freeze, and many others who stood by him, saying: “Today, by the grace of God, the final curtain has been drawn and I’m happy y’all walked this part with me.
“I can’t appreciate your candid supports enough. A true testament of your philanthropy and services to humanity. Thank you for making my dream a reality. For keeping to to all your promises; @obi_cubana @iam_hymans @lush_eby @winihyc @rockyemmyphotography @daddyfreeze
And hundreds of others who supported me in one way or the other, I’m so much grateful. Gracie #LLB #ebsu2025.
Obi Cubana also celebrated Jeremiah’s milestone, recalling how the young man had once dropped out of school but chose education over instant comfort when offers were placed before him in 2022.
“On January 19, 2022, when the offers were placed before you, you chose education! You made the best choice. Today, you are a 2025 law graduate! You could have chosen to take the money and walk away to temporary comfort and live for the moment, but you were wise to choose education!
“Today you have both education and the money, and more ahead! Congratulations Jerry, the world is yours! Thank you my brothers @daddyfreeze @iam_hymans for being part of this great sacrifice. The bigger job is ahead of us. Jerry MUST be successful! @jerryluck,” Obi Cubana wrote.
Nigerians have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages, hailing Jeremiah’s story as one of the most inspiring examples of how kindness and determination can transform a life.
KanyiDaily recalls that Obi Cubana recently revealed that his sister, Ada Akaeze, played a significant role in his success story, not just his wife, Ebele Iyiegbu.
