Seyi, the son of President Bola Tinubu, recently marked his milestone birthday, during which one million Bibles were reportedly given out to Nigerians as gifts.
Reacting on his Instagram Stories, Bisi Alimi questioned the choice, arguing that the gesture was misplaced at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with poverty and lack of education.
He pointed out that about 20 million Nigerian children are currently out of school, and roughly 65% of children aged 0 to 17 live in multidimensional poverty.
Alimi said it was disappointing that, instead of launching programs aimed at tackling poverty or improving education, the president’s son opted to distribute religious books.
He wrote, “20million of children are out of school in Nigeria and a further 65% of children between 0-17yrs are multidimensional poor. However, for his birthday, the son of the president is distributing Bible instead of initiatives to reduce poverty and increase literacy. Religion will be the end of Nigeria.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Seyi Tinubu recently denied reports that he donated N20 million to Nollywood actress Sarah Martins.
