Speaking during an event over the weekend at the Government House Banquet Hall in Jos, the governor made it clear that he has no plans to dump the PDP.
He said that only God and the people who elected him have the authority to influence his political decisions.
“It is true that they have been putting pressure on me,” the governor said.
“But I told them that only two people can authorise me to change my party — one is the God of heaven, and the other is you, the people.“Have you asked me to go anywhere?”
His question drew a loud “No!” from the audience.
The governor’s statement comes shortly after APC leaders in Plateau State dismissed widespread rumours suggesting that he was preparing to cross over to their party.
