Bernard Doro, who becomes the third ministerial nominee from Plateau State, used the opportunity to share his vision for an inclusive and transparent humanitarian system in the country.
He told lawmakers that he plans to build stronger collaboration between humanitarian agencies and security operatives to ensure better support for people affected by crises.
According to him, technology will play a key role in improving coordination and response.
After answering a few questions, senators commended his qualifications and leadership experience before asking him to take a bow and leave.
President Bola Tinubu nominated Doro last week to replace Nentawe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, who recently resigned to become the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Born on March 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Bernard Doro brings more than 20 years of professional experience to his new role.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, along with an MBA specializing in IT-driven business strategy.
He is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with extensive experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), where he has worked in urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital environments.
Beyond his medical background, Doro has been actively involved in youth mentorship and community development initiatives both in Nigeria and abroad.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu recently sent a letter to the Senate, requesting the confirmation of Professor Joash Amupitan as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
