The 40-year-old singer arrived in Lagos on Thursday to attend the 2025 Lagos Fashion Week, taking place from October 29 to November 3 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island.
Her visit also coincides with her birthday celebrations this weekend.
In a video shared on social media, Ciara expressed joy at returning to the city, saying she was impressed by how much it has improved.
She recalled that Lagos used to have “dirty roads” but said the city now appears “cleaner and more developed.”
“I’m so happy to be here, I’m really excited. It’s not my first time in Lagos, I’ve been here a few times so I know about Lagos,” she said.
“I love Lagos. But you know what? Lagos, from what I’ve seen, it’s like an evolution of Lagos. So when I used to land, I would see all the dirty roads, now its pavement.”
Ciara first visited Lagos in 2016 when she performed at the “Love Like a Movie 3” concert organized by Nigerian choreographer Kaffy. During that trip, she also explored parts of the city and immersed herself in the local culture.
