Seyi Tinubu Distances Himself From N20m Donation Given To Sarah Martins

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has denied reports that he donated N20 million to Nollywood actress Sarah Martins.

KanyiDaily recalls that Sarah Martins had accused officials of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) unit of disrupting her charity outreach in the Ikate area of Lekki.

She claimed that the officers seized food items, a cooking gas cylinder, and other materials she was using to feed the less privileged.

Following the incident, Martins took to Instagram to express gratitude for a large donation from Seyi Tinubu and the Noella Foundation, which is run by his wife, Layla Tinubu.

In her post, the actress said the N20 million donation would help her rent a suitable space for her outreach and ensure compliance with Lagos environmental and safety regulations.

My heartfelt appreciations to Mr Seyi Tinubu, @seyitinubu the Noella foundation, friends and associates of S.T for supporting the vision to feed less privileged kids,” she wrote.

“This money #20,000,000 will be judiciously put into acquiring a space where we can scale cooking to feed more people but most importantly in compliance with Lagos State Environmental laws & standards ensuring that public health and safety is never compromised.”

However, Seyi Tinubu later clarified on Instagram that he did not personally make any donation.

According to him, the contribution came from a few of his friends who decided to help after hearing about Martins’ situation.

He went on to stress that he does not condone any action that breaks Lagos State laws, saying that while empathy is important, it should never come at the expense of order.

“I have been informed that some friends of mine moved by compassion, raised funds to support a young woman who had an encounter with the law over an environmental violation,” he wrote.

“Their intention, I believe, was to help her secure a proper space to run her business, not to undermine the law. I appreciate their kindness and concern.

“That said, I must emphasize that while their hearts were in the right place, I do not support any act that violates the laws of Lagos State.

“Lagos thrives on order, and Nigeria’s strength depends on our collective respect for both our law and order. Empathy and patriotism must always go together. “

He added that while citizens can support people in need, such efforts must be done “responsibly, in a way that uplifts lives while keeping faith with the rules and values that bind us as a community.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Seyi Tinubu dismissed claims circulating online that he insisted his father must complete two terms in office.
