Bible Never Said A Child Of God Can’t Have Tattoo – Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo [Video]

Nigerian pastor and relationship counsellor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has said the Bible does not clearly state that Christians are forbidden from having tattoos.

He made the comment after a video showing him getting a tattoo on his hand went viral online, drawing different reactions from social media users.

In an interview, Pastor Okonkwo said many people who speak against tattoos do so based on personal opinions, church rules, or how they understand the Bible, rather than on clear biblical teachings.

He cautioned against turning such personal views into spiritual standards for others.

The pastor stressed that believers should rely on their personal walk with Christ and a sound understanding of the Bible, instead of allowing public pressure or religious traditions to dictate their choices.

He also challenged those who oppose tattoos to present clear biblical references or scientific evidence proving that tattoos are sinful or harmful to a person’s spiritual life.

According to him, although tattoos attract heavy criticism, many of those condemning them are unable to clearly explain the reasons behind their stance.

He said, “There’s no scripture that says a child of God cannot have tattoo. So people are doing personal preference of what the Holy Spirit told them or what their church policy is and then they want to impose it on other people and this isn’t how these things work. Everybody needs to know Christ to walk the word of God.

“Somebody needs to sit me down and spell it out that tattoos are bad, whether if someone draws ink on their body, their brain goes backward or their attitude changes.

“They must give me scriptural and scientific proof to back this up. But nobody does. Everybody is just shouting, but nobody can tell me why tattoos are bad.”
