Lack Of Oxygen At Abuja General Hospital Caused My Sister’s Death – Deka George

Nigerian content creator Deka George has expressed deep sorrow over the death of her sister, Evans Akinloye Chiamaka, saying the loss could have been prevented if Abuja General Hospital had access to oxygen and if she had been present.

In a post on Instagram, George shared pictures of her sister and revealed that Chiamaka, who was 36 years old, died after experiencing complications during childbirth.

The influencer said the situation has left her heartbroken and filled with regret because she was not able to be with her sister in her final moments, something that continues to trouble her.

According to George, she missed a phone call from Chiamaka shortly before her death because she was attending two different court proceedings in Lagos.

Her legal issues are connected to an ongoing dispute with a hair company, Rainbow Hairs, which she accused of selling her poor-quality hair despite paying more than ₦200,000 for the product, leading the company to file a defamation lawsuit against her.

George said that because of the court matters, she was unable to travel to Abuja to be with her sister during the emergency, adding that she wishes she could turn back time and be there when she was needed.

Deka George also claimed that the Abuja general hospital, where her sister was taken, did not have oxygen available, a resource she believes might have saved her life.

“Life is so fickle. My sister would have been alive today if I didn’t have two court cases in Lagos. You called but I was being dragged from Magistrate Court to Federal High Court. You called but I missed your call because I was busy fighting for my life and freedom in Lagos.

““I am sorry Sister Amaka. I wish I could go back in time. I would be with you in Abuja and we could have saved you. A whole General Hospital didn’t have oxygen. Nigeria failed you. I failed you,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government has ordered an investigation into the death of Elena Jessica, who reportedly died after suffering serious complications following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
