The 24-year-old content creator, whose visit has attracted major attention online, joined the children in dancing, painting, and other fun activities. on Wednesday, February 5, 2026.
During the visit, Kai Cenat handed out school bags, uniforms, and other learning materials to support their education.
He also spoke about how at home he feels whenever he is in Lagos, saying the warmth and welcome he receives always draw him back.
“I feel very comfortable whenever I’m in Lagos. The love I get here is a big reason I keep coming back,” he said.
Explaining that Nigeria holds a special place in his heart, Cenat recalled visiting two years ago and having such a positive experience that he encouraged people in the United States to consider traveling to the country.
He said, “Being back in Nigeria means everything to me. I was here two years ago and I completely enjoyed it. Everybody showed me love. When I returned to America, I told people Nigeria is a place to visit.
“I’m so mad that I missed December in Lagos. I just want to understand the culture more and explore it better. That’s what I’ve been doing all day.”
Kai Cenat first went to Makoko in 2024, where he began plans for a school project and donated $3,000 to support its development.
